Get Involved With The BLR 2023
There are plenty of ways to be involved, join the fun and fundraise. Below are just some suggestions. We are sure there will be many others! Join us on Facebook to get inspiration from others and share your own ideas!
- The convoy
For many reasons, it is not possible for the relay to go ahead without Lou at the helm on each part of the journey. She made sure the convoy kept good time and was able to troubleshoot with HQ when any issues arose. At BLR HQ we know how disappointing this is for many of you but we also know just how much work goes on behind the scenes and none of it is possible without Lou’s guidance.
- Fundraise
BLR has always been about raising money for BBC Children in Need and this year is no different. The best way the industry can honour Lou is to fulfil the reasons why BLR started 10 years ago. It would be wonderful if you raised funds to add to our overall Big Learner Relay total. Driving Instructors all over the country have come up with fun, unique and crazy ideas, either as individuals, with pupils, with fellow instructors or within their local associations. Ideas included sponsored fancy dress lessons, spotty face painted lessons and local car washes. Come up with your own ideas; share them on our Facebook page; tell your local press and get yourself and your driving school into your local newspaper! Donating online is really easy.

Track Your Own Fundraising
JustGiving no longer offer a text to donate facility. Please use our Donr account for all online donations. You are welcome to put this link on your website and Amy will be happy to email you the current BLR logo. If you and your supporters would prefer to text in a donation, this can be done simply by texting PASS and your donation to 70085.
Any cash or cheques you collect can be paid directly into the BLR bank account and it will all be transferred to Children in Need. Contact any by email – amy@biglearnerrelay.co.uk for the bank details.
However, if you really want to track your online donations and plan to set up a JustGiving account please can you link this to our account so we can include your efforts in the overall BLR total. This is how you can link your JustGiving account –
- Go to justgiving.com and click on ‘Get Started’
- Use your email address or Facebook profile to create an account
- Click ‘yes continue’ under ‘Are you fundraising for a registered charity?’
- Search for ‘Children In Need’
- Then ‘personal challenge’
- Choose ‘non sporting event’
- Choose ‘event name’ possibly BLR ‘23
- Choose ‘event date’ of 17.11.23
- Choose your web address
- Then tick the ‘no’ box
- Fill in your personal details on the next page
- Set your fundraising goal
- Click ‘save and continue’
- Then go to https://www.justgiving.com/team/BLR2023
- Click ‘Join the team’
- Now your fundraising page is linked to the main BLR Team page and adding to the total raised!
